Culminating at 2325 meters, La Tournette is the mountain that faces the campsite. It is the highest peak of the lake of Annecy and unmissable views can be experienced from all parts of the mountain. For the most courageous, the hike up to the top of La Tournette can take up to 6 hours, however the views are worth it and offer a magnificent 360 ° panorama over the Alpes and Lake Annecy.
At the top of the Bornes massif, La Tournette dominates the lake from its massive silhouette. Visible in all respects, it is emblematic of the Lake Annecy region. Its ascent is a must! From the top of La Tournette, you can enjoy a complete panoramic view of the lake and all the surrounding peaks, as far as the Aravis mountain range. On a clear day, Mont Blanc also unleashes its giant silhouette in the sky. Several hiking routes can be used, depending on the level and duration of the hike: you can start directly from the lake via Talloires or from the Lanfon river if you want to go on a two-day excursion. More traditionally, the ascent of La Tournette by the day or half-day is undertaken from the chalet de l'Aulp, located at an altitude of 1425 metres. You can reach it by car or choose to park lower, at about 1250 m, at the level of the "Prés Ronds". If you are not a walker, the site of the chalet de l'Aulp already offers a remarkable view of the lake. You can stop here to taste Savoyard specialities: potato fritters, tartiflette, fondues, omelettes, reblochonades and white tome. Hiking enthusiasts will continue their journey to the summit, via the Tournette refuge, to meet the ibexes!
